From the Field: El Conquistador Resort and
Golden Door Spa, Puerto Rico
The El Conquistador Difference
Perched on 300-foot cliffs overlooking
the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea, El Conquistador Resort and
Golden Door Spa lies on the northeastern tip of Puerto Rico,
near El Yunque Rain Forest. Business and pleasure mix
beautifully as groups enjoy expansive, beautiful and modern
meeting space and an incredible array of activities and luxuries
for the off hours. As an incentive destination, the resort
exceeds all expectations.
The Meeting Space. The new $32 million conference center at El
Conquistador Resort & Golden Door® Spa, slated to open on June
1, includes two adjacent conference areas with a total of four
ballrooms. It also features an outdoor terrace for events.
The magnificently appointed center offers
a 22,650-square-foot Grand Atlantic Ballroom, the largest in the
Caribbean, which is divisible into three equally sized sections,
plus up to 16 additional breakout rooms ranging from 815 to
1,619 square feet. Total capacities range up to 2,300 guests in
one room.

What Else Is New And On The Way? The 230 rooms in the Brisas Wing have
been completely remodeled by the famous designer Bob Barry at a
cost of $52,000 per room. The custom design for the Caribbean
features pearl white finishes with splashes of color of the
tropics.
Coming soon:
- The entire Resort will have completely remodeled guest
rooms by the end of 2007.
- A $12 million dollar Water Park with three enormous
slides, including one 200 foot long straight drop called “No
Breaks”, is set to open by the end of the year.

The Private Island. Palomino Island is El Conquistador’s
100-acre private island where guests can enjoy a variety of
water and land sports-- swimming, wave running, windsurfing,
horseback riding, snorkeling, scuba diving and fishing. The
island is just an 8-minute ride away by high-speed boat. For
relaxing, the island beckons with hammocks strung between palm
trees, lounge chairs lining the beach, and waiters taking piña
colada orders or other requests from the Calypso Bar. The Basics
