The Royal
Palms Difference
Although
this 117 room boutique property is located right off of a busy
road, it is built in such a way that you feel like you are at a
private estate, which, in fact, it once was. Built in 1929, it was
originally the home of Delos Cooke, a Cunard Steamship executive
and financier.
He imported 900 palms for his new home’s landscaping. The
grounds feature whimsical stone walkways, manicured courtyards,
hidden gardens, tinkling fountains and exotic foliage. The
property gives you a feeling of a home – nothing is cookie
cutter and everything is colorful – nothing is white. Four star.
Each room is a bit different but share a similar décor. All
reflect the Mediterranean feel of the property while adding in a
few subtle Southwestern touches. Creative fun amenities include
CD’s in the rooms as well as unique pieces such as mirrors and
tables that you are more likely to see in a B&B. Each room has
a private patio or balcony.
Meeting space at Royal Palms is also
unique. Meeting rooms have exposed wood beamed ceilings,
fireplaces, chandeliers-- dating back to the early 1900’s. Most
have attached or nearby courtyards with fountains, reflection
pools or lawns, where groups can have breaks and receptions, T.
Cook’s, acclaimed both locally and nationally, offers Tuscan
cuisine. The restaurant also has a private smoking lounge and a
bar.
